"Like to Hike" has developed in 1994 from a German-French circle
of like-minded friends in Munich. By now this association
has become a registered association called "Begegnung
in Europa - Verein zur Verständigung e. V." (European
Encounters - Association for Mutual Understanding)
and it has now about 74 members.
It
is our common target to make a contribution to friendly
relations and positive mutual understanding between
the people in Europe.
We are
independent with respect to any ideology. We are a
mixed group of people of every age and origin, also
coming from various professional backgrounds and we
are totally open towards anyone interested in joining
in and helping with our work. In Munich we also further
the development of our idea: we organise meetings and walking tours.
The

Our walking
itineraries and programs are planned in close partnership
with local associations and ramblers who are at home
in the particular areas and who, as Experienced guides,
are able to lead us to the most delightful spots.
Furthermore, the guides who are responsible
for looking after the guests during their stay will
be bilingual and experienced in dealing with groups.
They will do their utmost to make sure that everybody
feels comfortable.
Learning
to know more about people and community
Apart from
individual encounters, we would also like to make
our guests familiar with social topics and /or related
activities linked to the particular area we are visiting,
i. e. topics of European importance which contribute
to a better mutual understanding of different cultures.
To participate
in our walking tours it is not necessary to become
a member of our organisation. However, new members
will always be welcome! If you are interested in membership,
